If you’ve made it to this page, chances are, you’re wanting some expert insight on your Engagement Photo Session. Hi! I’m Lauren, and I’m here to share some of my most favorite locations in Central Florida and help you plan your dreamy engagement session (with me) hehe

Your engagement session is more than just a photo shoot — it’s the start of your wedding story. It’s the season where the excitement builds, the love deepens, and your vision for your day begins to take shape. Whether you’re dreaming of a romantic sunset on the beach or a stroll under mossy oak trees, Central Florida has some of the most breathtaking backdrops for engagement photos that feel both timeless and true to you.

As a wedding and engagement photographer based in Central Florida, I’ve spent years exploring locations that bring out that dreamy, romantic feel my couples love. When planning your engagement session, you typically find yourself asking “where should we go?” So here are some of my favorite places for engagement sessions — each offering a little something different depending on your vision.

1. Cocoa Beach — Romantic Coastal Vibes

If you’re dreaming of wind-swept hair, soft pastel skies, and toes in the sand, Cocoa Beach is pure magic. The golden light just before sunset reflects beautifully off the water, creating that glowing, sun-kissed look that feels effortlessly romantic.

I love starting sessions along the dunes and finishing as the sun dips below the horizon — capturing those cozy, intimate moments as the waves crash nearby. For couples wanting that nostalgic Florida feel, this location never disappoints.

Best time for photos: Sunrise or sunset
Style: Romantic, natural, carefree
Pro tip: Bring a light, flowy outfit and barefoot energy — it photographs beautifully against the ocean tones.

2. Winter Park — Classic, Timeless & Full of Charm

For couples wanting something elegant and timeless, Winter Park is one of my go-to spots. From the cobblestone streets and ivy-covered walls to the tree-lined paths and manicured gardens, every corner offers a beautiful backdrop.

I especially love Kraft Azalea Garden — with its towering cypress trees, lakeside views, and soft, filtered light, it feels like stepping into a dream. It’s perfect for couples who love that editorial yet romantic look.

Best time for photos: Golden hour for that dreamy glow
Style: Elegant, refined, romantic
Pro tip: Bring a neutral or pastel color palette to complement the greenery and golden tones.

3. Leu Gardens — Lush Florals & Garden Romance

Tucked away in Orlando, Harry P. Leu Gardens offers endless beauty — blooming flowers, hidden pathways, and elegant architecture. It’s perfect for couples who want a more botanical, storybook feel. Every season brings a new backdrop of color, and the light filtering through the trees makes for truly timeless photos.

Best time for photos: Late afternoon or golden hour
Style: Whimsical, nature-inspired, romantic
Pro tip: Plan ahead — this location requires a photo permit, but it’s absolutely worth it.

4. Downtown Sanford or Mount Dora — Quaint & Nostalgic

If you love vintage charm and small-town vibes, both Downtown Sanford and Mount Dora offer that cozy, old-Florida character. Cobblestone streets, waterfront views, and character-filled architecture make these spots perfect for a more laid-back engagement session with a touch of nostalgia.

Best time for photos: Golden hour
Style: Vintage, classic, cozy
Pro tip: Stop at a local café or ice cream shop during your session — it’s a fun way to add candid, documentary-style moments.

5. Lake Louisa State Park — Earthy & Natural Beauty

For couples who feel most at home in nature, Lake Louisa State Park in Clermont is a hidden gem. Rolling hills, tall grass fields, and shimmering lakes create the perfect backdrop for earthy, warm-toned engagement photos. It’s ideal for couples who love adventure and want a more relaxed, organic session.

Best time for photos: Sunset for golden, glowing light
Style: Natural, timeless, organic
Pro tip: Bring a blanket or picnic setup — it’s a sweet way to end your session and create authentic moments together.

Your Engagement Session, Your Story

Every couple’s story is different — that’s what makes your session uniquely yours. Whether you’re drawn to sandy beaches, charming city streets, or golden fields, I’ll guide you through the process and help you choose a location that fits your vision perfectly.

My goal is always to create images that feel like you — dreamy, timeless, and full of heart.
